Handmade headjoint by ALTUS

AZUMI profits from the close connection to the Japanese flute manufactory of ALTUS handmade flutes. The developments at the workshop of those high-end flutemakers are influencing the designs of AZUMI flutes too and so both the material selection and the design of the headjoint and especially the lip-plates are directly linked to the original ALTUS designs.

AZUMI is set up in two series:

Z-Cut lip-plate

Z Series with the angular Z-Cut lip-plate design and Sterling silver (925), as base material for the series

S-Cut lip-plate

S Series with the oval S-Cut lip-plate design and Britannia silver (958), as base material for the series

New in the assortment:

In the latest addition to the assortment, you can find the Special Edition A-models with a unique silver alloy - ALTUS Silver with 94,6 % amount of silver, developed in many years of research to get the desired “French flute sound” from the turn of the 20th century, in the tradition of the legendary Louis Lot master flutes.
